PayJustNow is a South African buy now pay later (BNPL) service. Customers split any purchase between R100 and R30,000 into three equal monthly instalments at 0% interest. The product is accepted by over 3,500 South African retailers including Cape Union Mart, Sportscene, Total Sports and many online stores.
Sign up takes about 2 minutes using your ID, mobile number and bank card. PayJustNow runs an instant credit check and assigns a spending limit, typically R500 to R10,000 for first-time users. The limit grows with on-time repayments. Pay the first third at checkout, the second and third on the same date in the following two months.
There is no interest if you pay on time. Late fees apply on missed instalments, usually around R65 to R100 per missed payment. Unlike credit cards, PayJustNow does not charge a monthly service fee on the unused limit. The facility is unsecured and is reported to credit bureaus, so missed payments affect your credit score.
